Re-fitting or removal – two procedures, one goal: work without tension.
For a re-fitting, the microrings are opened, the weft and attachments are guided upward in a controlled way and closed flat again. For a complete removal, every bond is opened and the weft is released from your own hair section by section.
Both procedures need clean sectioning, calm hands and a check of the hair, weft and microrings.
CLARIFY THE PROCEDURE FIRST
What happens at which step?
Re-fitting is not the same as complete removal. Decide what you want to achieve before you start.
Re-fitting
The existing row is opened, guided closer to the scalp and closed again after the check.
Remove completely
All bonds are opened and the weft is released completely from your own hair without pulling.
Reuse
Intact wefts and microrings can be used again after a condition check. Damaged parts are replaced.
FASTER THAN THE FIRST APPLICATION
Re-fitting: open, move up, close again.
The existing attachment points stay in place as long as the position, the strand of hair, the microring and the weft are in good condition.
WITHOUT PULLING OR TEARING OUT
Complete removal: release first, then take off.
The weft is only moved once every single bond has been fully opened and released from your own hair.

Only intact components are used again.
Your own hair: Detangle gently and watch for spots under tension or irritated areas.
Weft: Check the edge, the openings and the hair lengths. Do not put damaged sections back in unchecked.
Microrings: Intact rings can be used again depending on their condition. Deformed, loose or damaged rings are replaced.
Questions about re-fitting and removal.
The key answers on reuse, distance and working safely.
Does the weft have to be removed completely for a re-fitting?
Not necessarily. If the weft, the attachment points, your own hair and the microrings are in good condition, the opened bonds can be guided upward in a controlled way and closed again.
Can I reuse the same microrings?
Yes, if they are stable in shape and undamaged after opening. Deformed, loose or damaged microrings are replaced.
How close to the scalp may the bonds sit?
A distance of about 0.5 cm gives the bond freedom to move and reduces unnecessary pressure. The exact position depends on the area of the head, hair growth and comfort.
What do I do if there is pain or strong resistance?
Stop immediately. Open the affected bond completely and check its position, distance and the hair caught inside. Do not pull or keep working with force. If you are unsure, a Stessia partner will support you.
What happens to naturally shed hair?
Some of your naturally shed hair stays in the attachments while you wear them. During a complete removal, this hair is carefully detangled without pulling on your scalp.
IMPORTANT
Pain, strong tension or resistance is a signal to stop.
Open the affected bond and check it again. Never keep working with force. For hard-to-reach areas or if you are unsure, you can contact a Stessia partner directly.
