Depending on the material, the opening technique, and the condition, beads can sometimes be reused. Safety and hold always come first, though.
Check before every reuse
- Is the bead still evenly shaped?
- Are there sharp edges, cracks, or signs of material fatigue?
- Is the inner lining clean and intact?
- Can it be opened in a controlled way and closed flat again?
When to replace them?
Beads that are deformed, damaged, or no longer close reliably get replaced. Do not keep using a bead if it could pinch your own hair or compromise the hold.
Hygiene
Work only with clean tools and hygienically prepared accessories. For a professional application, the hygiene standards of the business also apply.
When in doubt, a new bead is the better choice. A Stessia partner can assess the condition at the re-fitting appointment.
